The theme of this book the friendship between a bear and his owner. The tone of the story is of hope and to show that not all things are one way like a bear. and the setting is in Alaska So next after the boy Mark comes back from the bear Ben which he had been with all day he finds out that the owner of the bear Ben is in need of money so he is going to sell the bear. Mark then mention that e wants the bear the parents think about it and then start to argue. His mom wants to let him have it because she saw them together all the time,but first she was afraid watching from a distance with a gun ready to shoot ,but then later found out Mark and Ben had a special bond. They sent Mark up to his room,but he was secretly listening and found out that he had a brother called Jamie and that he died from tuberculosis and that he had the same symptoms as him like being too small for his age and too weak. CRAZY LIKE A FOX
He tells him he is crazy because he kinda is I don't know if he was joking around ,but he asked who was trying to kill him and he said everyone was and he even pointed out a time when he was bombing a place people shot at him with cannons and I mean yeah it makes sense because when you are in war everyone is killing everyone and he sees it as strangers trying to kill him and he's not wrong ,but I guess he is kinda crazy because of the way he is and the things he says.
