WHAT'S IN THE NAME

I think the reason he had so much fun with the names because this book is not all serious and because of that he gets to mess around and he chooses to do that with the names and dialogue. His tones on the characters are one of like comedy and stuff he likes to make fun of 'em and he's trying to tell the readers what kind of people they are kinda like a personality just by their names.

GATSBY ESSAY

Gatsby's desire for "success" is evidence of a obsession and because of that he is an outlier. Gatsby's idea of success is to finally be with his love Daisy, he is willing to do anything to achieve that "success" he has ambition ,but as we know that can be both good and bad.  First off an example of Gatsby's obsessive behavior is when he buys a mansion  that was as close to Daisy's as possible. He went out of his way to get as close to her even going as far as buying a whole mansion just to be somewhat closer to her which is a weird thing to do(outlier). Another example is when Gatsby fires all of his servants because they were talking rumors about Daisy. This sort of behavior is strange an d caring so much about someone to the pint where you would do something of this caliber is something that someone with an obsession would do.
